Jelle Hooks, (b. 1995) is a Rotterdam (The Netherlands) based documentary and portrait photographer. Passion for photography started when I picked up the exact same manual film SLR camera my dad use to have when he was around my age. The craft and history behind this camera and using film brought me closer to the great photographers of the past and documenting the streets.
Having a particular interest in depicting the contrast of societies and documenting misfits or standouts in a real and raw state.
Wandering the street with my camera lets me observe the world around me. It makes me stay present in the now, instead of thinking about the future or past.
